Can I Do This?

Updated: Apr 3, 2020

You are caring for the kids because you love them. You are caring for them because they are family. You are caring for them because they are just kids. And they need love. And there is a voice in your head that says, “If I don’t do this, who will?”

But you have probably asked yourself…

“Can I do this?”

“Do I have what it takes?”

“Am I young enough for this? I just wanted to be a grandparent, not a parent again.”

“Can I raise kids in today’s world? I know so little about technology and kids today are so different”

“Is there someone who can help?”

While it may be hard to believe, the answer to all these questions is, “YES!”

Yes, you can do this.

Yes, you do have what it takes.

Yes, you are young enough…and strong enough.

Yes, you can raise healthy, responsible kids in today’s world.

Yes, there is someone who can help.

Abraham’s story is recorded in the book of Genesis in the Bible. When Abraham was 75 years old, God told Abraham, who still did not have any children, that he would have a son. Not only did Abraham not believe it, but when he told his wife Sarah, she laughed. They were certainly too old to have children. And it wasn’t until 25 years later that their son Isaac was born. Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90 years old when they had a child!

And God blessed Abraham, Sarah, and Isaac, just as He had promised. He blessed them with wisdom and strength and what they needed to raise Isaac.

This story unfolded 4,000 years ago. It a story that has been repeated thousands of times since. It will be a story that is repeated in you and the kids you have the privilege of raising. God loves your children. And He will give you the wisdom and strength and all you need to raise them.

You have what it takes. God is with you. And we are here for you.
